Great Southern Restaurants presents Winter Restaurant Week, January 21 - 25, 2014 Three Restaurants, Three Menus, Three Courses, $33

Jackson's Steakhouse is proud to partner with Napa Valley wine vintner, Garrett Ahnfeldt, of G Wine Cellars, to present a wine and food event, "A Taste of G Wine Cellars," on Thursday, March 13, at 5:30 p.m. at Jackson's Steakhouse. The focus of G Wine Cellars is on producing small lots of premium wine from different growing regions of Napa Valley. Their ability to control the variables in the vineyard by maintaining and farming their small block vineyards themselves, allow the wines to be a greater reflection of the distinct characteristics of the region and less an individual farming practice. Spotlighting the great mountain districts of the Napa Valley as the main grape source exposes the true, bold, tannin-structured-style wines that G Wine Cellars creates. With this as the inspiration, Garrett Ahnfeldt has hand selected four stellar wines to complement a selection of Chef Miller's dishes. In addition, Ahnfeldt will be attending the dinner to share his stories about the winery and answer any questions. The featured presentation for the evening is as follows: Reception Crispy focaccia, baby arugula salad, triple-cream Brie, toasted walnuts, comb honey and cracked black pepper paired with Villa Cornaro Prosecco NV, Veneto, Italy. First Course Cornmeal-crusted Gulf coast oysters with cured country ham/sweet potato hash, creamy jalapeño dressing and flat-leaf parsley paired with G Licious White, Napa Valley, California. Second Course Slow-roasted pork spare ribs with Irv's grenache barbecue sauce, locally grown beets, carrots and radishes paired with Grenache El Dorado, Napa Valley, California. Third Course Open-fired Vegas strip with soy-ginger glaze, green curry onion rings and sesame-roasted shiitake mushrooms paired with The 7th Letter Red Blend, Napa Valley, California. To Finish Apple tart with almond cream. The event cost is $75 per person plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited. Advance reservations required.
