Gulf Coast School of Music Spring Student Show Tues., April 21, & Weds., April 22, 6 p.m. @ Seville Quarter, downtown Pensacola Pensacola, FL . . . Gulf Coast School of Music, 215 E. Zaragoza St. in downtown Pensacola, is holding its Spring Student Show over two nights, featuring more than 60 talented youth and adult students showcasing their skills in front of friends and family. The shows are Tuesday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 22, at Phineas Phoggs in Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St., Pensacola, and they begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available in advance and at the door. The shows are open to all ages. Food and drink are available at the shows. Gulf Coast School of Music offers a unique, low-key approach to music instruction: students ''learn to play the fun way,'' both individually and as part of a band. Lessons are offered in guitar, bass, drums, keyboards/piano, and singing. Twice a year the school holds student shows so that students who are ready can perform live, at a real music venue. Preparing for the show teaches them how to plan for a performance, choose songs, rehearse, perform onstage, set up and run the necessary equipment, and promote a show. Perhaps most importantly, they have fun in the process. Additionally, the school features a recording studio onsite so that students can learn about music recording and produce their own CDs. Gulf Coast School of Music is open to music students of almost all ages--7 and up--and any skill level, from beginner to advanced. Students can join Gulf Coast School of Music at any time. All music lessons are taught by professional musicians with years of performing experience, and include guitar lessons, bass lessons, drum lessons, singing lessons, piano lessons, keyboard lessons, organ lessons, and synthesizer lessons.
