Capstone Adaptive Learning and Therapy Centers' first annual Battle for da' Paddle Charity Jambalaya Cook-Off is Friday, October 2 at Seville Quarter, 130 East Government Street beginning at 5 PM. Fifteen (15) teams will ''battle for da' paddle'' and bragging rights on making the best jambalaya east of New Orleans! First place team will receive an engraved paddle to be displayed with honor. Entry for a team of four (4) is just $25. Tickets for friends and guest are $10 a person. Sponsorships are also available. Current sponsors include NOLA Brewing Company, Southern Comfort, and Seville Quarter. Proceeds from the event benefit Capstone Adaptive Learning and Therapy Centers' many educational and therapy programs for children and students with disabilities. ''Jambalaya is a rice dish with meat or seafood, similar to Spanish Paela! The word is said to come from the Provencal word ''jambalaya,'' meaning mish-mash or pilaf. Very popular dish in South Louisiana but not less popular in Pensacola, Florida and along with great music and location ''Ehe! Laissez les bons temps rouler! You'll love it!
