The Pensacola Museum of Art welcomes Alan Manning, independent historian, author, speaker, and educator. Manning's lecture, which will take place on Thursday October 1 from 6:00-7:00.m. coincides with the PMA's exhibition Lincoln: Inspiration Through the Ages. Manning is releasing his book Father Lincoln: The Untold Story of Abraham Lincoln and His Boys in early 2016. This book looks at a side of Lincoln that has largely been ignored by many biographers; Lincoln as the father to four sons. Manning earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, his Masters of Arts in History from the University of West Florida, and a Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law. Manning has practiced law for over 25 years with national and regional law firms. Manning currently teaches Advanced Placement United States History and American Government at Pensacola Catholic High and is a Faculty Associate in the History Department at the University of West Florida. Lincoln: Inspiration Through the Ages is currently on display at the PMA through November 7. Lecture featuring Alan Manning: Thursday, October 1, 6:00-7:00p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
