NATIONAL TEQUILA DAY FREE Tequila Tasting July 24th 5pm End O'the Alley Courtyard Are you ready for July 24, 2015? It is the annual celebration of National Tequila Day. There are many national holidays. Some are very serious, some are silly and weird and some are just pure delicious. National Tequila Day (July 24th) is the latter. It's a day where we can all come together and celebrate all that is Tequila. In honor of National Tequila Day Seville Quarter will have a Tequila Tasting back at the End O'the Alley Bar featuring some of the best Mexican Tequila made. Tequila, for those unaware, is a distilled spirit that is made from the blue agave plant, made primarily in the area surrounding the city of Tequila. Tequila is only tequila if it is made from the blue agave plant primarily found in the Jalisco region of Mexico. Like Champagne or Brie, the real thing must be from this specific area! Mexico is granted international right to the word ''tequila''. We know people generally have a dysfunctional relationship with tequila (Tequila makes your cloths come off…); tequila actually has some health benefits -- that is, if you're not taking marathon shots of it. Your hangover might be attributed to the percentage of agave on the tequila bottle. The purer (look for 100 percent!), the less painful of an experience it's likely to be. Americans consume over 50 million liters of tequila yearly. Apparently some people need very detailed advice on how to drink tequila. Though most opt for the easy salt-tequila-lime sandwich as a chaser, another is just a classic Margarita. Seville Quarter will be serving them all on July 24th.
