Join us for the Seminar Series: "RESTORE Workshop for the Business Community of Escambia County" to learn about the process involving the Escambia RESTORE and the use of BP/Deepwater Horizon civil penalty funds. The event will be presented at the Downtown Public Library from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday, May 7.
The Resources, Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities and Revived Economies (RESTORE) of the Gulf Coast States Act passed in 2012. This federal law directs the use of funds gained through civil penalties stemming from the BP Deepwater Horizon blowout and subsequent oil spill. The Escambia County Commission subsequently established a RESTORE Advisory Committee which has been meeting regularly for the past two years.
Local businesses in Escambia County can learn about the RESTORE process to date, its impact and how to become engaged as the process moves forward. The workshop will outline how the business community can use its experience to develop and submit ideas for sustainable, transformational change and make a positive impact on the community.
The workshop is open to the entire business community at no charge, but only one attendee per business is permitted to attend.
Seating is limited, so reserve your spot now! All registrations must be recieved by May 1.
