Join the West Florida Public Library as we kick off a year-long series to Explore Pensacola History! In an area steeped in history, some of the most impressive pieces of our history are the ones not easily seen. For many years, all evidence of Pensacola's early years lay forgotten underground. Dr. Bense has played an integral role in the excavation and preservation of our area's unique historic heritage and put Pensacola on the map as an archaeological hotspot.
