Visions: Through Paintings, Poetry, and Prose

The Pensacola Museum of Art (PMA) is pleased to announce the opening reception of Visions: Through Paintings, Poetry and Prose on Friday, September 25, 5:30-7:00 p.m. This exhibition will be on display from September 25 – November 14 in Gallery 5 of the Museum. For the past year Gallery 5 has been used to spotlight local artists and the talent that resides within Pensacola. This exhibition, featuring artist Margaret Biggs, celebrates and explores Gulf Coast inspired landscapes, seascapes, still life and holistic pieces within a stylized manner, which borders between the elements of abstraction and realism. These oil on canvas works are paired with the artist's own poetry to guide visitors toward a sense of peace and connectedness. Biggs is an oil painter specializing in fine art originals, prints, commissions and poetry. Her paintings, a reflection of her life and earth's gifts, provide alluring images and healing for all. Her work has exhibited regionally and nationally, as well as being held in numerous private and corporate art collections. The artist's publication ''Visions II: Through Painting and Poetry'' is available through Amazon.com and the Museum Gift Shop. Opening Reception: Friday, September 25, 5:30-7pm. Artist Talk & Poetry Reading: Thursday, October 16, 6-8pm. Museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Museum is closed on Sunday and Monday. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 children 17 & under, military, and seniors. Admission is free for Museum members.
