A wine and food event presented by the Bodacious Olive and Jackson's Steakhouse Jackson's Steakhouse is proud to partner with local merchant and our neighbor, The Bodacious Olive, to present a wine and food tasting, "Viva Italia," Thursday, November 8, 5:30 p.m., at Jackson's Steakhouse. Few countries take their autumn harvests as seriously as Italy. Visit any hilltop town or small city on a weekend in the fall and you're likely to run into plenty of fresh markets, weekend feasts and food festivals celebrating the season. With the Italian fall harvest season serving as the inspiration for the tasting, we have hand selected four stellar Italian wines to complement a selection of classic Italian dishes as prepared by Chef Irv Miller using a selection of the olives oils, vinegars and pastas from the Bodacious Olive. The featured menu presentation for the evening is as follows: Antipasto Zucchini and roasted sweet pepper caponata with white champagne balsamic-steeped golden raisins, roasted garlic, Parma prosciutto, crispy basil and crusty Italian bread paired with Donelli Lambrusco Scaglietti di Sorbara, Italy, NV. Primo Pesto pizzette with fresh mozzarella and goat cheese, baby arugula and heirloom tomato salad, Tuscan-herb extra virgin olive oil and 18-year-old balsamic vinegar paired with Carpineto Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Tuscany, Italy. Secondi Bodacious Olive house-made lasagna noodles with spinach and portobello mushrooms, fontina, Asiago, fresh oregano and roasted-garlic white sauce paired with Umberto Cesari Liano, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. and Slow-roasted fennel seed and rosemary-rubbed pork-belly-wrapped pork tenderloin with finishing salt and black truffle fries with grated Romano paired with Cesari Amarone Classico, Veneto, Italy. Dolce Bomboloni filled with sweet potatoes, deep fried, and rolled in candied pecan dust with maple syrup balsamic reduction. The event cost is $75 per person plus tax and gratuity and will include four wines and five courses. Seating is limited; reservations required.
